Recovering from an autoimmune condition, Oils & Butter's Co-founder searched for chemical free, ethically sourced, natural ingredients for hair and skin care products. His journey brought him to exotic, rural communities where hand crafted, centuries old seed extraction processes are used.

To extract the rich dark oil, a traditional method from Jamaicais used to roast, grind and boiled the castor seeds. The shea nuts are cleaned, knead into a paste and dried to produce ethically handcrafted raw, unrefined natural shea butter, a time-honored tradition from Ghana.
